INFORMATION SOCIETY – a society in which all persons are allowed free access to the creation, receipt, sharing and use of information and knowledge, which contributes to their economic, social, political and cultural development. I.s. is characterised by the fact that: it uses a well-developed information and communication base in various spheres of social activity; the information sector has an advantage over the industrial sector in the economy; has a well-developed means of information and communication processing, and information processing is the basis for creating national income and provides the livelihoods of the majority of society. In i.s.: information permeates all areas of life; an increasing amount of information is being used; computerization and robotics are increasingly being used. In i.s. mass communication is of great importance because the transmission of information is the basis of society, and the emergence of new means of communication expands possibilities in this field [ P.
